第25回　イタリアン

「あなたは◯◯に向いてない」「うちの子の方がすごい」と言われた。なんていう相談。

『リストランテ・トラットリア・オステリア・バール』
イタリアンのお店と言っても、呼び方や棲み分けがある。
私はこれを「どういう人たちとお店を利用したいか」の違いと捉えるし、お店側からすれば「どんな雰囲気で、どんなお客さんに、どんなものを振る舞いたいか」の違いだと思っています。

その違いなだけなのに、どこに何回行った、知り合いだ。なんて鼻にかけてくる人がいるのも事実なんですよね。

金銭的な上下があるからなのか？年齢とか、歴史とか、威厳？それがそのまま優劣に直結する、という考え方？
なのかな？

そしてこういう人は「人のやる気を削ぎたい」「周りに人が集まる人が嫌い」でもあったりする、、、

我々法華宗の教え、南無妙法蓮華経のお題目の教えは、我々に伝えられるまでの過程、向き合い方の正しさはありますが、それをいただいてからの、人の優劣はありません。

聖人の唱させ給題目の功徳と、我等が唱へ申題目の功徳と、何程の多少候べきやと［云云］。
更に勝劣あるべからず候。

この世界において「南無妙法蓮華経のお題目を唱えよう」「信じよう」と正しく志せば、長く唱える、多く唱える、どこで唱える、誰が唱える、そこに優劣はない、というのが日蓮聖人のお手紙に見て取れます。

だから私は、、、

ありがたがられなくて良いし、それから、自分が偉いともすごいとも思わない。
さらにこれは、謙遜とは違うと思っていて。

謙遜イコール、へりくだることは、私を育ててくれた人、信じてくれている仲間に失礼なことだし、決を取るような場面では人さまに迷惑をかけることだと思っているから、へりくだりはしない。

その分、「世の中の人が欲していることか」が知りたくて仕方がない。
知りたいからと新しいチャレンジをすれば「目立ちたがり」「場所をわきまえろ」「昔はそんなことはしていない」なんて、チクチクされたこともあるし、もしかしたらこれからもあるかも。

でも、そんなことより、目の前の人に不必要と思われること。

今まで近くにいた人たちを、変われない自分のせいで失ってしまうほうが、私を守ってくださるほとけさまにも失礼なこと。

そんなことがめぐりめぐって、とうとう口に出した言葉がこうでした

「人の生き方、向いている向いてないを決めつけるなんて、えげつないハラスメントだから、へこむに値しないよ」

Even though we're different, we know each other and know where and how many times we've been. It's true that there are some people who say things like that.

Is it because there are financial ups and downs? Age, history, dignity? Do you think that this is directly linked to superiority or inferiority?
Is that so?

And these people may also ``want to demotivate others'' or ``hate people who gather around them.''

The teachings of our Lotus sect, the teachings of the daimoku of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, have a process and a correct way of facing them until they are passed on to us, but there is no one who is better or worse after receiving them.

When I take on a new challenge because I want to know more, I have been told things like ``I want to stand out,'' ``I need to be aware of the place,'' and ``I never did that before,'' and I may be told this in the future.

But more than that, it's something that seems unnecessary to the person in front of me.

It would be more disrespectful to the people who protect me than to lose the people I've been close to because of my inability to change.

After all this happened, these were the words I finally spoke out.

"Judging someone's lifestyle and whether it's suitable or not is gross harassment and doesn't deserve to be humiliated."
